Thank you for visiting BarryforSenate.com. In my twelve years as a resident Northeast Minneapolis, I have always been impressed with the pride people take in being part of this wonderful area – a pride I share. As a candidate, the question I am most asked is “Why are you running for office?” The short answer is that I want Minnesota and this District to continue to be places in which we can be proud.
I’ve never had a job in politics or government. Like you, I am a simple citizen, and like so many people I’ve talked with, am very concerned with the direction we are going. Our current politicians have grown deaf to the needs of average citizens and working families. Government is more involved in every aspect of our lives, chipping away at our personal freedom. Debt and spending are no longer sustainable.
We must instead get back to these basic principles:
Put citizens before special interests and people before politics.
Grow jobs by reducing regulations and creating a more competitive business environment.
Expand, not restrict, personal freedom and liberty.
